About Us

The Legal Services Regulatory Authority was established in 2016 and is an independent authority. We are Ireland’s national statutory regulator for both branches of the legal profession – barristers and solicitors.

What We Do

Our key functions include receiving and investigating complaints against barristers and solicitors and providing information to the public about legal services, including legal costs.

Authority Members

The Authority is comprised of 11 members who are appointed by the Government following nomination by a number of professional and representative bodies.

Our Team

Led by our chief executive, our team of around 30 staff work across our main functions of complaints handling, legal services, communications, research and innovation and corporate services.
